How it all started
I cannot remember a time in my life where I wasn’t in love with art. From drawing, painting, sculpting, weaving and finding the perfect scribble for my signature and trademark smiley face, I’ve enjoyed experimenting with the different facets of the art world. That is, until I picked up my first professional Canon 35mm camera! Then I was completely hooked.
The loves of my life…my husband of twenty-five years, and three talented, spirited children have always come first. But I’m proud to say that after twenty-plus years of shooting photography for various clientele, I’ve finally branded my PhotoJENic Photography as an LLC. I’m also finishing up my BA with an emphasis in photography. Having stretched out my college studies, I have had the benefit of discovering photography as it has evolved into what it is today. No more developing in the dark room with trays of chemicals, but instead, learning the new tools of the Adobe Creative Suite and the many new advantages of shooting with a professional Canon DSLR camera.
My work reflects my personality… fun, vibrant, creative and easy-going. Preferably shooting outdoors, I am available for portrait sessions of families and children, corporate business photography, high school seniors and smaller special events. I truly love capturing life’s amazing moments and providing memories to last a lifetime.

p.s. I’ve designed my logo to have a butterfly-like shape, which contains my initials JK, and is fashioned symbolically in loving memory of my favorite grandmother, Dorothea, and my niece, Heidi Laure.
